ABOUT STAGES COACHES

"A goal without a plan is just a wish"

Meet Deb Zuver

I’m excited to collaborate with you as your coach.

Life changes can be both exciting and challenging.

I offer space and support as you navigate your way forward

and experience the joy of success.

I am a certified life coach — I also bring training in drama therapy and leadership mentoring; I'm licensed as a family therapist.

From my experience in clinical and educational settings, I’ve developed an appreciation of individual differences and learning styles. It's important to identify strategies that make sense, are engaging and get results. That experience builds confidence to set and reach goals, and to look toward a positive future.

My background includes these experiences:

  • I mentored leadership trainees and directed Project STIR (Steps Toward Independence and Responsibility) at the Carolina Institute for Developmental Disabilities at the University of North Carolina.
  • I developed and presented training for all learning levels often with interactive approaches. Examples include week-long self-advocacy trainings, workshops on inclusive practices scenario-based programs for divorcing parents, and standardized patient -- actor training encounters for healthcare providers.
  • I led state-wide collaborative projects with stakeholder groups to create systems change.

"Deb Zuver is a very competent coach who has great listening skills and understands how to encourage the best in her clients."

- Janice Cohen, Leadership Coach

"It is with immense heartfelt appreciation that I thank you for your recent help and guidance."

Meet Jess Miller

As your coach I am in a partnership with you.

Together we discover your strengths and build resilience.

Through our alliance we will identify new strategies and you will move

toward more successful life experiences.

I enjoy coaching people of all abilities, particularly young adults transitioning to greater independence, and individuals of all ages are navigating new life challenges.

I have been an integral part of higher education, community mental health, and other community-based organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1989. I have worked as a program director, counselor, creative arts therapist, instructor, case manager and job coach for people with a range of abilities. My commitment to the field led me to complete my doctorate in Education Leadership.

I am very interested in coaching women in transition as they explore new roles and avenues in their lives. I am a member of the queer community and have worked with LGBTQ+ seniors as they adjust to retirement and cope with feelings of isolation. I welcome the opportunity to coach and support members of my community.

I’ve offered key services to provide young adults a smooth transition from college to career. I engaged with them on employment strategies and job placement services, supporting them to become competitively employed in a variety of positions. They adjusted to job expectations,  made use of accommodations and many worked with a job coach to maintain stability. These experiences inspired new expectations for a full life ahead. As director of a
Workability III program, I worked in partnership with the California Department of Rehabilitation, an interagency cooperative opportunity.

I have advised and coached college students with visible and nonapparent disabilities. Through exploring their individual histories and identifying strengths, they applied new strategies and developed the stamina to propel themselves toward a successful and exciting college experience. I have enjoyed 20 years of teaching and I continue to work as an instructor in community college settings.

My doctoral dissertation focused on issues of discrimination faced by students with non-apparent disabilities in academia. My BA thesis in Women Studies examined how domestic violence was seen historically and in the present day.

"Jess Miller has been great for me in all sorts of ways such as setting goals and mantaining my work ethic"

- MK, Client

"Thanks very much for all the efforts in personally coaching life skills. Your expertise and knowledge is very much appreciated."

- MM, Client achieving "adulting" skills
